We are in the general election period in Italy (January 2013): large metal plates occupy the streets of Rome to show the posteres of the different political formations. We are at the beginning of the electoral campaign and the metal plates have not yet been invaded by the new icons. These plates are rusted and have small remnants of posters from previous campaigns. Everything ready to present the new products of the political market and participate in the ritual of Democracy.
I have photographed the rusted metal plates before being invaded by the posters. I have edited some of these images with photoshop and I have printed them in an electoral poster format. I want to show the footprint of wear and tear while transforming it into a visually seductive and upbeat image; they are the marketing metaphor of Democracy!
