News from Nowhere explores, from an ironic perspective, the role of symbols and narratives that construct meaning in contemporary societies. Present both in the collective space and in our intimate sphere, these elements shape the way we interpret the world, construct our certainties, and relate to others.
The work combines iconographic elements from politics, religion, and the media with objects and fragments from the private sphere. Through processes of decontextualization and unexpected juxtapositions, these symbols lose their established meanings and reveal their constructed nature, creating situations where the absurd and the tragic coexist.
The materials, partly connected to the sensibility of Arte Povera, reinforce the tension between the everyday and that which society invests with symbolic value.
