Under the idea of an architecture of emptiness, this body of work explores space not simply as a constructed form, but as something that opens, shifts and withdraws: a territory where absence acquires a structural dimension. Within this context, optical illusion functions not as a formal device, but as a means of questioning the apparent singularity of perception and revealing the multiple ways in which we construct our experience of space.

The works are based on elementary geometric and architectural structures inspired by containers such as houses, shelters, chests and boxes—forms associated with intimacy, memory and protection. These structures unfold across the pictorial surface through a continuous interplay between expansion and contraction, surface and interior, creating spaces that remain in constant perceptual tension.

Emptiness is therefore understood not as absence, but as an active element that organizes the image and sustains the dialogue between its different spatial layers. Illusion is not conceived as deception, but as a critical strategy that exposes the limits of perception and questions the stability of what we believe we see.

Situated between painting and sculpture, these works propose a hybrid and mutable space where meaning emerges through the viewer's perceptual experience.
