Sangen fra kjelleren is a performance inspired by the film Songs from the Second Floor, 2000 by Swedish director Roy Andersson. The piece explores the uncertain territory where the boundaries between sanity and madness, adaptation and maladaptation, no longer function as opposing categories, instead revealing the fragility of the human condition.

Conceived as a ritual passage, the performance places the body at the center of the experience. Through restrained presence, expanded duration, and the repetition of gesture, it invites a gradual shift toward a state of vulnerability in which the certainties of identity begin to dissolve. Rather than telling a story, the work opens a suspended space where the visible and the invisible, the intimate and the collective, coexist as inseparable dimensions of a shared experience.
